"You are not a failure for struggling. You are human." | Unknown

Nobody should ever have to go through their pregnancy and postpartum journey alone. Your mental health is not your fault. While I am here to be a resource for my clients, I would love for my clients, and others, to have a list of resources so that every single person who needs help, love, and support can find it. I, myself, am located in Minnesota, so some of the listed resources may be Minnesota specific. But there are many that are virtual and/or offered all across the country.

Emergency Hotlines:

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need to speak with someone immediately:

If you have thoughts about hurting yourself, your baby, or someone else call 911 and go to your nearest emergency room IMMEDIATELY!

Non-Emergency HelpLines:

    • HelpLine hours are 8AM - 11PM EST

    • PSI offers a wealth of resources for a wide range of needs

Postpartum Support International | PSI:

Did you know that 1 in 5 birthing people and 1 in 10 partners suffer from postpartum depression or anxiety? You do not need a diagnosis to reach out for help. PSI has a wide variety of Specific Support Resources for at-risk populations. These groups include:

  • Perinatal Individuals

  • Families & Support People

  • Adoptive Parents

  • BIPOC Parents

  • Dads & Partners

  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing

  • Loss & Grief

  • Military Parents

  • Postpartum/Perinatal Psychosis

  • Queer & Trans Parents

PSI has a closed Facebook Group that includes professionals, moms, and volunteers. It is for support and peer educational purposes. It does not substitute professional medical advice.

They offer 50+ FREE and virtual support groups for a variety of different needs. These groups are led by people who have lived experience with postpartum depression or anxiety. Some of the groups include:

  • Pregnant/postpartum mood or bipolar disorder

  • NICU parents

  • Pregnancy termination

  • Black moms

  • Queer & Trans parents

  • Support for dads

  • Parents experiencing early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant loss

  • Military Moms

There is a Peer Mentor Program that will pair you with a trained volunteer who has also experienced and fully recovered from a Perinatal Mood/Anxiety Disorder (PMAD). You will virtually connect with your mentor on a weekly basis. This is available if you are struggling with a PMAD and are within the perinatal period; conception through two years postpartum, including loss and post-termination.

PSI has also created an Online Provider Directory. You can use this to search for a mental health therapist, healthcare provider, psychiatrist, doula, lactation counselor, sleep coach, and more. All of their listed providers have specialized training in perinatal mental health.

You can even find resources in other languages including; Spanish, French, German, Hebrew, Chinese, Punjabi, Farsi, and more.
